Purpose by Design Retreat

 

There was a new format this year at Purpose by Design, geared to teenagers to expose them to thinking about the possibilities of their future.  This year, in developing new leaders to pass the torch and bring in a new generation, the retreat format was a one day event at a beautiful local hotel.  The girls were greeted at 8:00 am in the morning and went non-stop until dinner.  They were exposed to entrepreneur presentattions, mentoring, elevator introductions, body language and personal presentation tips. At the end of the day, we took some time to breathe, listen to God and make art. It is always amazing what the girls hear when they slow down, stop talking and start to listen.

Now we are talking about character, not profession or circumstances… but character can help or hinder you from achieving the goals you might have. Character can also change the goals you have by making those goals more meaningful and fitting with the purpose God has for you. Everyone has a purpose in God’s kingdom.

How do you find your purpose?

Who do you look up to?

Think about the people in your life whose character you admire.

Of all the people that know you, Jesus is the only one who knows you inside and out and knows how to help you be the best person he created you to be. He also knows the purpose He has planned for you.  But in order to find out what He has in mind for you, you need to spend time with Him, alone and listening.

 Let go, relax, be still, and know that God is God.
